At this stage we have decided to not add the private  messaging facility. If you need to say something we want you to say it on the forum. The forum also belongs to its members, so please let us all protect it.

Agree - no private messaging - remove any post not adhering to the rules - immediately. Between 2004 - 2009 as hundreds of thousands of forums arose on the internet the whole thing degenerate into a urinating contest - who could urinate the furthest and and how many people you could pollute.

A lot of people took a little fact (or fiction) from somewhere and repeated it elsewhere - heaven help you if you disagreed - most often the stirrers posted under an alias. The whole thing became very ugly and personal. Ordinary koi keepers were afraid to ask questions or vent an opinion - being afraid of personal insults and mockery that would surely follow. (I have a number of these arguments saved)

Allow members to report content because as a forum gets more and more members it becomes difficult to look at every post or reply.

Just keep it simple and allow different opinions and ideas - afteall in koi keeping the are 10 solutions for every problem.

Hello, First, I would like to thank you for this forum. It appears you put a lot of hard work into it. I want to say that I am trying to rehome two Koi. I made a post about this in the General Discussion. I would really like to rehome these fish, as they are in good health and still young, so they should adapt fine to the move. I simply cannot find anyone in Cape Town that will take the fish; I would like to ask if you have any recommendations to rehome these Koi, anywhere in the Cape Town region and preferably somewhat soon as the tank conditions will become unsuitable very soon if not already. Thank you in advance, awesome forum.
